KCTU provides statistical input via collaborating academic departments and individual senior statisticians across KCL who have been assessed as having expertise in the design and delivery of clinical trials to ensure that trials have the best chance of being funded and of delivering the strongest possible evidence base to inform clinical practice. Every trial supported by KCTU statisticians has a Senior Lecturer, Reader or Professor level statistician to collaborate on the study, with junior grant funded statisticians allocated to the project for an appropriate proportion of their time, both working to KCTU Statistical Standard Operating Procedures under the KCTU Quality Management System.
Statistical input into research is vital to ensure that data is robustly collected and analysed, thereby providing reliable results which are publishable in high impact journals.
If statistical collaboration is requested, the support request should be submitted well in advance to allow sufficient time for a statistician to review the project before grant submission.
If your study is in the area of mental health or neurosciences, please make an appointment initially to speak to an NIHR RSS advisor at www.ctu.co.uk/NIHR-RSS
For all other clinical areas, a brief support request form must be submitted.
We strongly advise that researchers approach KCTU at the grant application stage, ideally 3-4 months in advance of the submission deadline to get the best possible input and consideration.
Requests for support are circulated to the relevant senior academic and operational staff for consideration, to ensure that the best possible match between the trial and the expert collaborator is achieved.
